Dr. Rudelich Opens Chiropractic, Sports Medicine Practice Jason Rudelich, D.C., hopes to help serve the health needs of the greater Random Lake community for a long time. He purchased the Ideal Chiropractic practice and has renamed the business as the Random Lake Spine & Sports Clinic. It continues to be located at 321 Carroll St. in downtown Random Lake. He began on April 10, and the business has grown quite a bit since that time. “It’s been going good,” he said last week. “This month has been the busiest since I’ve been here. It has been extremely easy to fit in — everybody has been concerned about how the practice is going.” The former Ideal Chiropractic office, which was owned by Dr. Jennifer Mills, opened on June 7, 2005. It was staffed by Dr. Brenda Holland. “I’m trying to build off of what she had done here,” Dr. Rudelich says. A native of Racine, he graduated from Horlick High School and then attended UW-Parkside, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in biology and a minored in chemistry. He wanted to pursue a career in the medical field and considered pursuing an M.D. degree. He “shadowed” a number of health professionals, including the many specialities of medicine (even forensic medicine), and found an interest in solving people’s problems with muscles and bones. He also had an interest in the newly developing field of sports medicine. For his areas of interest Dr. Rudelich found that the chiropractic area of study provided the best way to serve patients. “I also looked into an osteopathic school,” he notes. He enrolled in the Northwestern Health Sciences University’s College of Chiropractic, located in Bloomington, Minn. He graduated in 2002 as a doctor of chiropractic. He began working in Green Bay at both Bay Area Chiropractic and the Aurora BayCare Medical Center. Next he worked in an independent practice in Minnesota for a couple of years. Deciding to move back to Wisconsin, Dr. Rudelich worked for two years for Med Alliance, which has a multi-disciplinary clinic in Glendale. “That kind of multi-disciplinary practice is what I hope to develop here in Random Lake,” he says. He began looking for the opportunity to work on his own, and found it in Random Lake. Dr. Rudelich, 32, has also completed 140 hours of additional training in chiropractic sports medicine. When he completes the testing he will become a certified chiropractic sports physician (CCSP). “I have a genuine interest in sports injuries,” he says. The doctor hopes to develop a working relationship with the Random Lake High School sports department as well as with the Random Lake Fire Department. The focus of the practice will be sports injuries as well as the traditional emphasis on disorders of the musculoskeletal system and the nervous system, and the effects of these disorders on general health. Chiropractic care is used most often to treat neuromusculoskeletal complaints, including but not limited to back pain, neck pain, pain in the joints of the arms or legs, and headaches. “I have a lot of respect for the medical profession,” he says. “I was originally going to go into one of the medical professions.” He looks forward to establishing positive relationships with the medical doctors serving this area. He is a member of the American College of Sports Medicine. In the 2006-07 season he was team doctor for the Milwaukee South Division High School boys’ team. Dr. Rudelich has already made some major changes in the Random Lake office. “I do accept all insurances,” he says. “We are able to verify benefits in the clinic and work with individuals on insurance.” He is in the network with most plans. He also accepts Medicare and Medicaid patients. The Random Lake Sports & Spine Clinic is open Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.; Thursdays from noon to 6 p.m.; and Saturdays by appointment. The office is closed Tuesdays. The phone number is 920/994-2000. He has added Jennifer Spraeder as a receptionist. She is a massage therapy student, and that type of treatment may eventually be added to Random Lake Spine & Sports Clinic. Rudelich is a Croatian name and the correct pronunciation is: ROOD-e-lick. Dr. Rudelich is also joining the faculty of the Blue Sky School of Professional Massage in Grafton, where he will be teaching anatomy and physiology. |
